In 2017 Valve were bleeding writers left and right, with four of them all quitting the company within months of each other. Among them were Jay Pinkerton, Erik Wolpaw, and Chet Faliszek, who all worked on Portal 2, who left Valve after it transitioned away from this sort of narrative-heavy games.

Now, Jay Pinkerton, who has also worked on Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, has returned to the fold, as noticed by a very observant Reddit user, according to PC Gamer.

Is he back to continue the franchises he worked on previously? Or will he be working on something new? Nothing is certain as of yet, but it will be interesting to keep an eye on Valve in the time to come, especially since they'll be attending Gamescom this year.

What do you hope he is working on?

REVIEW. Written by Rasmus Lund-Hansen (Gamereactor Denmark)

"Portal 2 managed to surpass my very high expectations of it and it's the perfect sequel to the classic Portal. It does everything right and doesn't take a single wrong step."
