Pokemon sells one million in a day

Nintendo has confirmed that the new Pokemon title(s) Black and White have notched up one million sales in the US market within the first 24 hours of going on sale, reports Gamesindustry.biz.

Nintendo of America's senior director of corporate communications, Charlie Scibetta, said it proved once again the massive installed base of DS owners in the country.

"Already established as the nation's best-selling video game platform of all time, the installed base of more than 47 million makes it the ideal hand-held for developers to reach a huge gaming-focused target audience."
