We all know Pokémon Go had people walking all over the place, sometimes in places they shouldn't be, but the main thing is that it got players walking in the street. Well, a joint study by Microsoft Research and Stanford University researchers (thanks Gamasutra) revealed that the game added 144 billion steps to US physical activity.

These numbers are the result of a three-month study of 32,000 wearers of Microsoft fitness trackers, and the study concludes Pokémon Go increased the average activity of an active player by 1473 steps a day, or 26%. The study has several limitations, however, since it's based on data collected and not interviews or backgrounds, and it's limited to anyone actually using the fitness tracker.

Still, its an interesting study that you can read in detail here. Did you find yourself walking more?

"It isn't without its flaws, but what's there is engaging, innovative, and most importantly, fun."
