Playtonic Games is a studio that's formed mostly of ex-Rare developers, and considering the first Yooka-Laylee was seen as a sort of spiritual successor to Rare's classic game Banjo-Kazooie, some seem to think that Playtonic may be working on another Banjo-Kazooie game as a result.
It turns out Playtonic has heard these rumblings, and has released a statement on Twitter putting these rumours to bed, saying "we aren't working on a new Banjo-Kazooie game and we remain an independent studio".
They also say that "the ball isn't in our court" and that they'd love to work with the duo again. Right now, however, they're focused on making new experiences for fans, like Yooka-Laylee and The Impossible Lair, which we received earlier this year.
"Thanks for being understanding and positive about this for the most part everyone," they conclude in another tweet.
Do you mind if they work on new content rather than Banjo-Kazooie?
