It's really difficult to dispute that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has seen a success of meteoric proportions, and even though the game is still in early access, sales continues to rise and so does the peak of active players. Now, more data has come in to further solidify its dominance on the market.

According to SteamSpy, the game is now owned by over 7 million players, and yesterday they registered a peak of 617,000 active concurrent players. That's some serious results, and follows the news that PUBG had more views than LoL on Twitch last week.

So in terms of success, it's handled both player numbers and the streaming side of things pretty well, and perhaps both of these things will be talked about by Brendan Greene when he gives a panel at Gamescom.

Why do you think the game has gone down so well?
