Players getting the option of switching teams in Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go players will soon have the option to switch teams in the popular mobile game.

A much-requested feature will soon be added to Niantic Labs' popular mobile game Pokémon Go. Players that wish to change their team loyalty from Instinct, Mystic or Valor will be able to do so in a coming update. The option to change teams if one's unhappy with their choices is, undoubtedly, a welcome feature but there's a small catch.

The option will be given to players once a year, so if one chooses a new team and, for some reason, changes one's mind, the next switch will be a year away. Switching teams will cost 1,000 PokéCoins, with which the player has to purchase a Team Medallion for.

The feature will be added on February 26.

"It isn't without its flaws, but what's there is engaging, innovative, and most importantly, fun."
