Players explore a "journey through grief" in Still There

Writer Daniele Giardini explained the concept to us at Gamescom, which also makes use of humour as well.

We got the chance to see Still There a little bit at Gamescom this year, and writer Daniele Giardini talked to us at length about the emotional journey, which is all about grief and how the character deals with it.

"It's a game about many things, but most of all it's a journey through grief," he said. "But not necessarily a journey into a universal approach to grief. It's a journey into the grief of a specific person and how he reacts to it, and it's a mix of both grief and how one reacts to that, and humour. There's a lot of humour also, there's obviously puzzles too, because it's an adventure, so it's a progression that's reflected via metaphors, both physical and metaphysical, in this path of acceptance for this specific character."
