Players can now wield Captain America's shield in Fortnite

Fortnite, still on the forefront of the Battle Royale genre, now gives its players the option to wield various Avengers weapons.

Last year, Epic Games gave Fortnite players the option to wield Thanos' infinity gauntlet to annihilate their enemies (and annihilate is the best word to use, as players were distraught over the gauntlet being overpowered). Now, however, in celebration of Avengers: Endgame, Fortnite will expand upon the old game mode, now giving players the ability to wield Captain America's shield, Thor's hammer/axe, Hawkeye's bow and parts of Iron Man's suit.

The game mode was teased recently but is now live for everyone to enjoy. The event is titled Fortnite Endgame and in it, you're tasked with fighting Thanos and a bunch of Chitauri soldiers, stopping the godlike antagonist from finding the infinity stones his gauntlet so desperately needs to kill most of the universe's population with a snap of his fingers - for the greater good, of course.

The event brings new collectables, skins, vehicles and banners and you can go get them all right now.
