Frontier Developments has unveiled a brand new trailer for Planet Zoo, announcing the early-access beta coming on September 24 and available to all who pre-order the Deluxe Edition. This will run until October 8, including the first scenario from the Career mode and a biome from Franchise mode.

Career mode puts players in charge of zoos around the world, and this first section serves as a bit of a tutorial, showing off some of the animals you'll cater for. Franchise mode is all about building your own zoo though, featuring an online Animal Exchange where players can trade creatures, as well as Daily Challenges and weekly Community Goals.

Planet Zoo is also playable at Gamescom in Cologne this week, letting players try Career mode and Sandbox in Hall 7, although if you want to get involved with the beta you'll need to pre-order the Deluxe Edition for £42.99 (€54.99, $54.99 USD). Those who just want the standard edition, however, can pre-order for £34.99 (€44.99, $44.99).

As well as the game itself and beta access, the Deluxe Edition has three exclusive animals, high-quality wallpapers, and the original soundtrack. As for the three exclusive critters they can add to the zoo at launch on November 5, these are the Komodo Dragon, Pygmy Hippopotamus, and Thomson's Gazelle.
