Ubisoft has made a few changes to the teams who will be competing in the Rainbow Six: Siege APAC Closed Qualifier, after North America's Pittsburgh Knights made the decision to pull out of the 2022 Six Invitational due to the team being unable to field a team that could compete.
It's an unusual situation that has reverberating effects, as with an extra slot being available in the 2022 Six Invitational due to the Knights pulling out, the next highest ranking team, Invictus Gaming, has been given a spot in the APAC Closed Qualifiers, to be able to compete and potentially earn a spot in the upcoming Invitational.
On the topic of the APAC Closed Qualifiers, Ubisoft has also announced that due to "recent changes to local travel regulations in Thailand", the event will now be held online, at the same dates (January 8 and 9).
Ubisoft has yet to make any changes to running the 2022 Six Invitational as an in-person event, and hopefully it will remain that way, as was the case for the 2021 Six Invitational.
