It's only been 363 days since Obsidian announced that Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire had crushed the goal of its Fig campaign and that the sought after sequel would become a reality. We won't have to wait long to see the result either.
Developer Obsidian Entertainment and publisher Versus Evil have revealed that Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire is set to launch on April 3, and you can pre-order the different editions here. There are two special editions available. The Digital Explorer's Pack includes the official soundtrack, an in-game pet, a secret in-game item, pen and paper RPG starter guide, high resolution map ad Digital Guide Book Vol. II, while the Obsidian Edition includes all of this plus the three planned content packs that will come some time in the future.
Obsidian and Versus Evil also recently revealed that THQ Nordic will distribute a physical edition of the game globally. There's currently no confirmation of an eventual release on consoles, but as the predecessor got a release on PS4 and Xbox One it stands to reason we might see Deadfire on consoles in the future as well.
