Pictures of new Zelda for Wii U found in Twilight Princess HD
A link between two Zeldas.
In the end, a week ago Nintendo didn't celebrate the series' 30th anniversary by releasing a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda Wii U, the next entry in the adventure series that will launch in fall 2016.
However, the PR machine for the new game has started up already with expectations rising, and even The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD, the remaster of the Wii/Gamecube classic that launches next Friday, is getting in on the act, as proven by an Easter egg we've found this week while playing the game for review.
In a nod that Nintendo had done in a similar way previously (Skyward Sword in Ocarina of Time 3D, Majora's Mask in A Link Between Worlds), now you can find a collection of paintings and pictures at a certain location in Twilight Princess HD that are clearly screenshots from The Legend of Zelda Wii U.
For obvious reasons, Nintendo isn't releasing new pictures publicly just yet, instead they're reusing two very popular images from the already-released screenshots of the new game.
We already know that there's going to be some sort of connection between the games. This is because the Wolf Link Amiibo, which launches along Twilight Princess HD next week, is connected to the new Zelda for Wii U (you're able to transfer data from one game to the other).
We found the Easter egg while spending huge amounts of rupees on the most expensive store in Hyrule Town. Another funny detail is that both pictures appear miirrored:
