The co-op heist shooter Payday 2 has just arrived on SteamOS, and to celebrate that fact, publisher/developer Starbreeze Studios is letting anyone and everyone try the PC version of the game for free.
If you find that the game scratches your itch, you'll be happy to know that it's also on sale on Steam, currently at 75% off the regular price.
The SteamOS version of Payday 2 is available to anyone who's already bought or buys the PC/Windows version of the game. If you have an Alienware Steam Machine, you'll also get the game free of charge.
The option to play Payday 2 for free is available until the end of the month.
Payday 2 landed in 2013, and since release it has been continuously supported by Overkill with a lot of paid-for DLC (and some free stuff too). For more on the game you can check out last year's Frontline article, where we look at the state of the game two years after launch.
