Sony's PlayStation VR headset has been around since 2016, bringing us games like Batman: Arkham VR, but a new patent shared by Lets Go Digital (provided in English by Video Games Chronicle) indicates that they're preparing a new headset.

This was filed in February this year and published earlier this month, and describes a headset with two front cameras and one at the rear. LEDs around the headset are tracked by an external camera, as we've come to expect from the original, but Sony Move controllers could also feature a camera as well.

Perhaps the patent points to a wireless headset too, as we can't see any wires on the images, but we'll have to wait and see what details emerge regarding new VR hardware from Sony, who have just revealed the PS5 officially.

Another recently-published filing from Sony Interactive Entertainment points to an AI method for "gaming assistance" as well, so it'll be interesting to see what happens in the future with hardware.
