There isn't a Tour mode for Assassin's Creed Odyssey (yet), but those who want to explore the world of Ancient Greece being designed for the game will have different options beyond picking up a controller. Ubisoft is teaming up with three companies to publish a line-up of books to support the game, and we're getting a novel, an art book, and an official guide alongside the launch of the game in early October.

Kassandra, the lost daughter of Leonidas, is the main character of the novel written by the Scottish Gordon Doherty (Legionary, Strategos trilogy) and published by Penguin Random House. Here's the synopsis:

Kassandra, a descendant of Leonidas, is caught in the turmoil of the Peloponnesian War. Because of the prophecy of an oracle, she was left for dead by her family and escaped from Sparta. 17 years later, now a mercenary in Kephallonia, an unexpected turn of events causes her to set sail across war-torn Greece on an Odyssey to reunite her family and confront the ones who tore it apart. The author, Gordon Doherty, is a Scottish historical fiction writer who previously wrote the Legionary series, set in the Eastern Roman Empire in the late 4th century AD, and the Strategos Trilogy, set in 11th century Anatolia.

Prima Games is once again behind the official guide. This book will help you to complete your Odyssey via a detailed walkthrough, including "the different branching stories, along with detailed maps flagged with all locations, collectables, and targets" and also a detailed list of weapons and equipment. It'll also come with a game map and a message for fans.

Last but not least, Ubisoft is partnering with Titan Books to expose all of the hard work that has gone into the visual side of the game. The Art of Assassin's Creed Odyssey contains sketches, character art and fully rendered paintings representing the main characters, the equipment and weapons, and the landscape of the game.

We got our hands on the next game in the Assassin's Creed series before our own odyssey to LA for last week's E3, and you can check out our extensive preview here.
