After getting a good handful of "Game of the Year" awards this year, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End will offer the players a chance to expand its acclaimed story mode, via the already announced The Lost Legacy standalone campaign, which focuses on characters Chloe and Nadine.

Little more is known about this expansion, but now Naughty Dog directors have shared a couple of tidbits to Official PSM (and via Power Up).

Creative director Shaun Escayg and game director Kurt Margenau underline they want to keep the environment of the Uncharted universe, but it seems they're also looking for slight changes in terms of location, narrative tone and even gameplay features.

"It [will] be tonally different, but in the same context of the Uncharted world", points out Escayg. "India's got really nice iconography: hidden temples and weird deities we can play off of, so it's a perfect setting for Uncharted: The Lost Legacy."

In terms of gameplay width, something that probably has to do with open exploration, Margenau adds that "I would say we're going a little more wide this time. I don't want to give too much away, but it's something we're excited about on the gameplay side, this kind of contrast of an urban setting and a rural setting; a tighter experience and more open experience".

Naughty Dog turned what was originally conceived as a DLC into a full, standalone story expansion as "we needed a longer time for the story to develop", as creative director explains.

When do you expect to get in Uncharted 4: The Lost Legacy?
