It's reasonable to assume the folks at DICE in Stockholm have been logging in extra hours over the weekend as Battlefield 4 was the target of a DDOS (distributed denial of service) attack this weekend. Producer Ali Hassoon took to Battlelog to explain the situation on Saturday:

"Hi guys, we are being targeted by a DDOS, but working on fixing it asap. Im sorry somebody is ruining your and my day. Rest assured we are doing our best to mitigate the situation though."

Another issue arose as American PS4 players had issues with stability and crashes. And Hassoon once again took to Battlelog to explain:

"We are deploying a new server to the PlayStation 4 platform. You might be disconnected from your session as servers are restarting to apply the new patch. The server update addresses a very severe crash issue on the PS4."

Reading up on the comments it seems there are still plenty of issues to deal with. Let's hope everything is in place for the European launch on November 29, eh?
