Mario Party: Island Tour, the 3DS title, has been given a release date of January 17. The game, which has been designed with portable play in mind, features a selection of party games. Modes include Time Attack - a single player feature where players must play ten mini-games in a row, completing special objectives to boost their time. Mini-game Tower is set in Bowser's tower, with players facing boss battles as they go up. We're promised a variety of bosses, and we got a glimpse of a Gumba battle.
There's multiplayer, with StreetPass features supporting up to ten players. One new addition is motion controls, players will be able to flash ghosts with a torch, and steer marbles using the 3DS's functionality.
