An excellent example of Sony's gentle hand with indie developers has arisen as developer Jasper Byrne was allowed to release his Director's Cut material (that had been signed as a two-month exclusive on PS3/PS Vita) on Steam.

The story was revealed through Jasper Byrne's Twitter, and soon Sony executive Shahid Kamal Ahmad also went on Twitter to explain their reasoning.

"I asked @curvestudios and @JasperByrne for two months' exclusivity, which was reasonable. When they asked to cut it short-we were reasonable"

"Remember folks, business is not about legal agreements, it is about people, relationships, circumstances and a will to make things work."

"Our agreements are set up for developers to thrive, not to stifle them. And we are flexible beyond that when it makes sense for everyone"

With this in mind it's easy to see why indies flock to PlayStation.
