Just a few days after confirming its new name, it has become clear that there may be an issue with the new name of Blizzard's Moba title, Heroes of the Storm.
An Indiegogo campaign was launched last year for a pen-and-paper RPG called Myrskyn Sankarit (which, translated in to English, means Heroes of the Storm). The game's creator Mike Pohjola is, according to WoWInsider "concerned about the two games co-existing peacefully", and has suggested that Blizzard may have to change the name of their game once more. Whether he'll be able to persuade Blizzard of this remains to be seen.
It starts getting complicated when you look at the trademark situation. Blizzard registered the new name at the end of September, 2013, whereas Pohjola only registered his in early October, and only in Finland. While the Indiegogo campaign clearly points to the existence of the project beforehand, whether that's enough to stand up to legal scrutiny we shall have to wait and see.
