Day 1 Studios has had to lay off roughly one hundred of its employees Gamespot has revealed. The studio was working on a new installment of the Silent Scope series for Konami, but the Japanese publisher has recently withdrawn it's support.
Day 1 has developed games such as F.3.A.R, Fracture and Mechassault (on the original Xbox) and was founded by TJ Wagner and Denny Thorley just over a decade ago.
Their website states that they had over 140 employees, so the loss of over one hundred staff - nearly an entire development team - is a massive loss for the company, although it should be noted they have retained the services of a smaller team who are working on another project.
