The beauty of the internet and crowdfunding in general is that relatively niche audiences can band together and make possible what otherwise would not happen. A high budget Lacrosse video game is one such thing that would likely never see the light of day if big publishers were calling all the shots. This hasn't stopped former player and current coach Carlos Sunseri from making a few Lacrosse titles with his outfit Crosse Studios, but with Lacrosse 14 he wants to step it up a few notches and with this Kickstarter he wants to rally fans of lacrosse and video games to the cause. He's enlisted Australian Big Ant Studios, who have created numerous Rugby and other sports titles, and the idea is to release Lacrosse 14 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 if it's funded ($210,000) through Kickstarter.
The campaign started yesterday and so far around $16,000 from just over 200 backers has been secured. Some way to go in other words, but if you've longed for a console Lacrosse game this may be your best shot.
