One Kickstarter project seems to be supporting another today, with the announcement that Elite: Dangerous will support the Oculus Rift VR headset.

Elite: Dangerous, with its space exploration and combat, is perfectly suited to support the headset, and no doubt backers will be excited at the prospect of a more immersive experience.

David Braben, CEO of Frontier, said: "We've been playing with the Oculus Rift dev kits and are excited about the potential - just glancing around your cockpit or being totally immersed in a space battle. Many of our backers have made it clear that they would like Oculus Rift support - and so do we! We're very pleased with the results so far."

The Oculus Rift enabled version of the game will be made available free of charge to all of those gamers who have the headset. Elite: Dangerous is expected to launch in March of next year.
