Three Rings Design, the developers of successful free-to-play MMO Spiral Knights, has joined forces with publishing powerhouse Sega in what they hope will prove a profitable alliance.
In an open letter to supporters, Daniel James - the CEO of Three Rings Design - had this to say: "Today brings to a close a ten year journey as an independent developer, and opens a new chapter for the studio as a part of the SEGA family. As many of you know, SEGA and Three Rings partnered to launch Spiral Knights, building a deep trust and mutual respect over the past year."
In a move to further reassure fans, James added: "no changes to our current development plans have been made, and we of course hope to announce more exciting projects in the future in partnership with SEGA".
With their new found stability, it will be interesting to see what the developer does next.
