Call of Duty smashes all records

Modern Warfare 3's unstoppable march.

It was always likely to happen given the hype surrounding its release, but Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has this week smashed the records for all entertainment releases. Ever.

Publisher Activision's flagship game has made them a staggering $775 million (that's nearly £500 million) in just five days, beating the $650 million dollar record set by (ahem) themselves just last year with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Another record was broken with Microsoft confirming that over 7 million hours of multiplayer gaming was logged on the first day alone.
