Classic point and click adventure Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Father is getting an a 20th Anniversary remake and will be released on iOS, Android, PC and Mac next year.
The 1993 original is being remade by Jane Jensen and her team at Pinkerton Road, and is being made from scratch specifically to take advantage of retina displays (2048x1536), and it'll also feature voice recording and a remastered soundtrack by the original composer, Robert Holmes.
"I'm thrilled to be back at work on Gabriel Knight and to bring this classic game to a new generation of players," said Jensen.
"It's a designer's dream to be able to enhance the game and bring in more New Orleans flavor than technical limitations allowed us to in 1993. It's going to look and feel like a brand new title. But never fear, 100% of the original Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers is here. I hope both existing fans and new players will love it."
Sins of the Father has been under development for about a year (under the working title "Mystery Game X"), meaning players looking forward to being reunited with the bookstore owner from New Orleans won't have too much longer to wait. The game is set to be released in mid-2014.
