It appears that Microsoft might be preparing a new virtual assistant for their hardware products, and the software (it's name at least) will be familiar to many, as it's called Cortana.
Named after the blue AI character that keeps Master Chief company in Halo, Cortana - according to reports from ZDnet - was first spotted on leaked Windows Phone back in June, and has resurfaced this week and is being touted to roll out across Xbox One, PC and Windows Phone, replacing the TellMe service.
"We are not shipping until we have something more revolutionary than evolutionary," Microsoft Bing's director Stefan Weitz said in an interview with CNET. "There are teams working hot and heavy on this right now."
