Playstation's American chief, Jack Tretton, has been talking about how the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft will reinvigorate the market.
In an interview with Fox Business (and via CVG), Tretton responded to a question about the US games market shrinking over the last fifteen months: "We're talking about the seventh year of a console and I guess if you used a TV analogy, you might say, boy, the re-runs of a show we released seven years ago aren't doing as well as before. The new machine, and the new console war is going to reinvigorate the industry."
The past few months have been incredibly testing for retailers and publishers alike, with companies like THQ going bankrupt, and High Street retailer GAME flirting with administration.
"This will be the biggest launch in history," added Tretton in response to that point, "and you are going to see validation that gaming is healthier than it's ever been, and the console is at the top of the entertainment pyramid."
November is going to be a big month for everyone, with both Xbox One (November 22) and Playstation 4 (November 29) seeing release in the UK.
