Microsoft has gone and acquired the domain name, Xbone.com, it has been revealed.
Earlier in the week Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb posted on Neogaf that he wasn't a fan of the nickname that some have been using to describe Microsoft's next-gen console, Xbox One: "I don't like it...it disrespects the teams that have put in thousands of hours (already) into the development of the product. Sure, it's cheeky but I don't care for it myself."
Fusible reported that the latest WHOIS records now reveal that Microsoft is the proud owner of the domain name, and speculate that the platform holder may have even had to pay a fair chunk to the pervious owner to acquire it.
