The planned Ascension update for Hawken, which was supposed to land yesterday, has been postponed until next week, with it due to arrive on September 10.
The free-to-play mech shooter was due to have a massive update, with new mechs, maps, and a load of tweaks and adjustments, but because of new issues that came to light at the last minute, Meteor Entertainment and Adhesive Games decided to wait until next week.
To ensure the update is a success, the studio are asking that players (who registered before August 20) sign up for early access to the Ascension build, so they can "try their best to break our servers".
Links will be sent out over the weekend to those eligible, and those who participate will be granted a 7-day XP boost for their time. If you haven't signed up already you won't be able to access the Ascension update until it's officially launched, but you can still play the game as is by heading this way and downloading the client.
