Ever since the first game came out there has been rumours about Mirror's Edge 2. And despite the fact that a prototype was said to have been rejected by EA back in February, the rumours of a sequel just won't go quiet. DICE's Patrick Liu had the following to say to Spong on whether or not the market was ready for another Mirror's Edge:
"Yeah, definitely. I think it's something that people are ready to get into again. We see that there's a huge fan following, it's almost like a cult! And we know what strengths we had, and what weaknesses we had in that game. If we were to release a new game, we'd know what to improve and how to reach a broader audience. So I definitely think there's a market there."
Remains to be seen what this means and if DICE are currently working on a new concept for Mirror's Edge 2. It's bound to come at some point, of course... The games industry loves sequels.
