It was only the other day that news broke that Microsoft's Albert Penello blamed the Xbox One delay in several countries and territories on the Kinect enabled voice control. Apparently Microsoft were not able to deliver on this feature and thus they decided to delay the console for these countries. Of course, Penello failed to acknowledge the fact that many of these countries had known since the Xbox One announcement that they would not be getting voice control at launch. As it turns out only 5 of the 13 countries that will be getting Xbox One in November will get voice control out of the box. This includes the United Kingdom and fellow English speaking nations Canada and the United States, while France and Germany will also be getting the feature. The rest well they will have to wait for an update most likely.

The revelation was found in the small print of this official fact document hosted on Xbox.com.

"Xbox voice commands will not be available in all markets on the product release date. Voice commands will be available at launch in US, UK, CA, FR, and DE."
