A couple of days ago we reported on teething issues for the launch of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn and it seems Square Enix have been forced to take drastic measures to ensure stability and a good experience for current users. In fact all sales of digital versions of the game have been halted while the company works on increasing capacity. The following message was posted on the official Square Enix Facebook page:

"Important Notice About FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn - Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, we are currently experiencing extremely long wait times for users to be able to log in and play. As a temporary measure, we will halt sales of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN's digital download products so we can accommodate all of those wishing to play. We are working to expand our server capacity in the coming days.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this causes."

Obviously this kind of thing is nothing out of the ordinary with players wanting to play 24/7 at launch, but at least it's an early sign that A Realm Reborn is attracting players.
