PlayStation 5 is being sold for £600 at Amazon UK

Did Amazon UK just reveal the price of the PlayStation 5 ahead of tonight's event or is the £600 a placeholder?

Tonight at 9 pm BST, Sony will formally reveal the PlayStation 5 and some games to be played on it. Games like Silent Hill, Resident Evil 8, Final Fantasy XVI, God of War 2, Horizon: Zero Dawn 2, Spider-Man 2 and a new Gran Turismo have all been rumoured to be announced at the event for the new console - and hopefully, we'll also get a price-tag and a release date.

We still don't know when the PlayStation 5 (or Xbox Series X for that matter) will be released and what we will have to pay for the units. But yesterday, we might have gotten a clue about the latter as Amazon UK posted two placeholder pages for Playstation 5, costing £599.99. One of these was for a console with an SSD hard drive of 1TB and one with 2TB. It seems very unlikely that the two will be sold at the same price, but it is also unknown whether there will even be a 2TB version as Sony has only announced a Playstation 5 with 825GB storage.

As PlayStation 5 will have an expensive but high-end hard drive solution and is rumoured to have a high-tech cooling system, £599.99 doesn't seem too farfetched as a price, although most analysts have guessed it will be priced around $500. Still, this is of course highly unofficial so take it with at least half a cup of kosher salt.

What do you expect that PlayStation 5 will cost at launch and do you expect Sony to reveal the price tonight?
