EA used the stage at Gamescom to tell fans about Battlefield 4 Premium, the paid membership scheme that will grant fans early access (of two weeks) to five different expansion packs set to land over the course of one year.
"Fan reaction to Battlefield 3 Premium has been nothing short of amazing. We are humbled to see more than 4 million people join in," said executive producer Patrick Bach. "With Battlefield 4 Premium we continue to roll out the red carpet, treating our fans like VIPs with a massive amount of new gameplay, exclusive new content and even more benefits at an incredible value."
Battlefield 4 China Rising, Battlefield 4 Second Assault, Battlefield 4 Naval Strike, Battlefield 4 Dragon's Teeth and Battlefield 4 Final Stand were all announced, along with unique personalisation options for Premium players, priority position in server queues, new content every week (though what that'll be remains to be clarified), 12 bonus Battlepacks, and the ability to transfer membership from current to next-gen consoles.
Also revealed today was the multiplayer beta, which will start in early October, and be exclusively for Premium members who have Battlefield 4 Digital Deluxe (as well as owners of Medal of Honor Warfighter Digital Deluxe and Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition) for three days. Following that an open beta will kick off for everyone, and will feature the Siege of Shanghai map on the Conquest mode.
