The film adaptation of Assassin's Creed is being re-written by Scott Frank, the writer of The Wolverine. The screenplay for the movie, which will star Michael Fassbender and is due out in 2015, was originally written by playwright Michael Lesslie.
In an interview with Creativescreenwriting.com, Frank revealed: "I'm rewriting Assassin's Creed right now, and what I love about it is that I've never adapted a video game before and it has its own set of challenges. Especially in the world of rewrites, I love trying to do something completely different if I can."
