HES and Big Ant Studios have today announced Don Bradman Cricket 14, set to launch on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC later this year.

The license was obtained from the Bradman Foundation, with HES MD Sebastian Giompaolo saying: "It is indeed an honour to be able to bring the greatest player to a technology savvy generation of fans in what promises to be the greatest cricket game of all time. Big Ant Studios have been working hard on this title for four years and we at HES are really excited with what they have been able to achieve. It is far superior to any cricket game in the market."

The game will include a career mode (where you'll take a cricketer through the ranks to the top of the game), ball and player physics, "unique" batting/bowling controls, a new fielding system, dynamic time of day, practice nets, and customisation options aplenty.

Don Bradman's competition comes in the form of Ashes Cricket 2013, the launch of which was recently pushed back to the end of the year. Which cricket game will make it to market first is anyone's guess, but given that there are two Ashes series taking place this year, both teams will be hoping to capitalise on the current popularity of the sport.
