Blizzard are known for taking their time developing games and what was early being described as the successor to World of Warcraft "Titan" is certainly no exception. During a conference call following the latest financial, Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime admitted that the project was being taken in a "new direction", while resources had been relocated to more immediate projects like Blizzard All-Stars and ironically World of Warcraft. The latter now sports a worldwide player base of 7.7 million as of the end of June (down from 8.3 million at the end of March). As for Titan, Blizzard are assessing what the new direction will be, but Morhaime did indicate that it was unlikely that it would be a subscription based MMORPG. As for when we might see Titan released, well, it's Blizzard so don't expect it anytime soon.
