The recently announced Fez II has been cancelled, according to Phil Fish. A post on Polytron revealed that the decision wasn't "the result of any one thing."

The announcement was met with a mixed reaction, as revealed in the post on Polytron's website, where Fish confirmed: "Fez II is cancelled. I am done. I take the money and I run. This is as much as I can stomach. This isn't the result of any one thing, but the end of a long, bloody campaign. You win."

Not much is known about the sequel, which was only announced last month, but confirmation of the cancellation came in the form of a post on Twitter that stated: "It's with a heavy heart that we announce that FEZ II has been cancelled and is no longer in development. We apologize for the disappointment".

There doesn't look like there's any chance that work on the sequel will resume; after a bitter exchange on Twitter, Fish tweeted on his personal account: "I'm getting out of games because I choose not to put up with this abuse anymore."
