Oculus Rift has been getting a lot of positive attention as of late, and in an effort to entice the indie community to embrace the device they are launching VR Jam in collaboration with IndieCade.
The competition that lasts for three weeks starting on August 2 will have two categories, one featuring ten hand-picked developers, the other open to all entrants. Total prize money comes to $50,000 with the winner in each category scoring $10,000.
Below is the timeline for the entire competition:
· Aug. 2 - VR Jam begins
· Aug. 9 - Milestone 1
· Aug. 16 - Milestone 2
· Aug. 25 - VR Jam ends
· Sept. 13 - Finalists announced
· Sept. 19 - Winners announced
· Oct. 3-6 - IndieCade Festival 2013
