Valve has finally decided to do away with the beta tag and invite all Steam users in to play the free-to-play MOBA Dota 2. Or rather you can now apply to join Dota 2 freely as Valve is adding more players in waves to ensure a great experience for what is already a large community of players. Simply head over to the official Steam page. sign up and wait for an e-mail in order to join in. Sounds sort of like a beta, doesn't it?

Dota 2 is already holding the record for most concurrent players on Steam, and we can probably expect that record to be broken soon. The game is currently not launched in Korea and China as it will launch later there, and Mac and Linux versions are currently in testing and set to be available soon.
