As you surely already know, Scarlett is the working title for the next Xbox console, however, that will be changed and given a proper name closer to launch, just as Durango became Xbox One and Scorpio turned out to be the Xbox One X.

Since Microsoft hasn't used the same easy naming convention as Sony for their new consoles, but rather has opted for something reminiscent of what Nintendo does, one might think that it's hard to come up with a great name. However, according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, this isn't the case. In an interview with Stevivor, the man from Microsoft confirmed that it hasn't been hard, explaining:

"Our naming convention has been around what we think the capabilities are. Xbox 360 was about the entertainment experience around the box and the box being in the center of that entertainment experience. Xbox One, if you remember our branding early on, was 'always on input, all in one'. Those names were really built around the purpose of the box.

I don't feel like I need to follow in their footsteps because they're kind of self-contained."

Hopefully, we won't have to wait too much longer to find out what the new console will be called. Do you have any suggestions that you think would suit the new Xbox?
