The launch of Runescape 3 is coming on July 22, it has been announced by Jagex. The update is the biggest in the MMO's 12 year history, and during that time over 200 million players have signed up for the game.

The new update sees that game switch to HTML 5, meaning no more Java or plug-in requirements, as well as improved graphics, audio, and a new camera system that takes advantage of the game's longer draw distances. Player's decisions will now impact the world around them in a way previously unseen in the game so far, as Runescape now enters into the 6th Age. You can sign up for it here.

Runescape 3 executive producer Phil Mansell said: "We receivedĀ  fantastic praiseĀ  from our passionate RuneScape community when we first revealed the development of RuneScape 3, so we're thrilled to be able to confirm the 22 July launch date for the most significant update in the game's history. Our pioneering use of HTML 5 technology continues to place us at the forefront of browser-based gaming innovation, and will result in a truly amazing gaming experience for players."
