Recently Valve announced that its most famous franchise would be getting a new entry when they confirmed that PC-exclusive Half-Life: Alyx would be dropping for VR in 2020.
Once the news landed, it seems as though a number of fans went out to order themselves a headset capable of doing justice to the new game. Considering that Valve has an in-house solution it was clear that this piece of tech would receive an increase in attention from fans (not least because there's some Index-exclusive content coming to the game).
It has now been reported that the Valve Index has sold out of units and can no longer be ordered in North America (it seems fine here in the UK, although we're warned that there may be delays due to increased demand).
It's also worth noting that this is not all packages: only the solo headset, the controllers and then the headset-controller bundle are listed as "Back in Stock Soon", with the Full Kit package still being available to order, with a message apparently stating: "expect delivery before December 25th".
Valve Index is currently available in 31 countries with shortages only being reported in the US and Canada so far, the full list of countries is available here.
If you are unable to get your hands on Valve Index do not worry, Half-Life: Alyx will also be available on a number of other VR headsets when it releases next year.
Does the Valve Index interest you?
Thanks, Road to VR.
