We enjoyed adventurous roguelike Curious Expedition when we played it for review back in 2016, but one thing that we didn't think was missing was a multiplayer mode. The game's creators obviously disagreed and who are we to argue, after the developer just put out a free update called Curious Expedition: Rivals, which is a way to play the game with friends.
According to the developer, Rivals offers much bigger game worlds for players to explore (up to 10,000 times larger, in fact) and the chance to compete with a number of other players (we're not sure how many) in a shared world.
Developer Maschinen-Mensch is also working on a sequel, The Curious Expedition 2, which is due to land on PC next year. You can find out more about both Rivals and its sequel here.
