Yesterday we reported that Dragon Age II had been removed from Steam as the new expansion Legacy was only available for purchase in-game, something that was not in accordance with Steam rules and regulations. Crysis 2 was removed today. And EA issued the following statement:
"At EA, we offer our games and content to all major download services including GameStop, Amazon, Direct2Drive and Steam. Unfortunately, Steam has adopted a set of restrictive terms of service which limit how developers interact with customers to sell downloadable content. No other download service has adopted this practice. Consequently some of our games have been removed by Steam."
Of course, the Steam experience is something PC gamers really enjoy so let's up the two giants can mend things and that Battlefield 3 will eventually make its way there (not available for pre-order at this time).
