According to Digitimes (thanks, VG247), it seems as if Valve may be helping Apple with an augmented reality headset, reportedly targeting a release window in the second half of 2020.

According to the report, another company is tackling the assembly and manufacturing, with Apple working on software and UI. This will also be a head-mounted display to go with the iPhone too, using the software capabilities of the device.

This isn't the first time Valve has worked with Apple though, as they helped make native VR headset support possible with macOS High Sierra in 2017, although this new information is surprising given reports earlier this year that Apple had stopped developing AR and VR headsets.
