Gigabyte is launching something called the AORUS RTX 2080 Ti Gaming Box, which is actually the world's first water-cooled external GPU, and to no surprise it features an Nvidia Turing architecture GeForce RTXTM 2080 Ti graphics card, along with Thunderbolt 3, enabling even ultrabook laptops to support real-time ray tracing game and hardcore creator work.
The box uses the AORUS Waterforce Cooling System, which according to Gigabyte is "allowing users to enjoy a quiet and comfortable environment while handling heavy work".
"We take care of not only the GPU but also the VRAM and MOSFET to ensure a stable operation and longer life. AORUS Waterforce all-in-one cooling system integrates a large copper plate, a 240mm aluminum radiator and two 120mm fans. With an optimized pump and water block, it provides the most efficient water flow and cooling performance at a lower noise level," reads the press release.
While in-depth details are available on Gigabyte's site, it fails to mention the price, although the Nordics are looking at €1,340 excluding VAT prices, while the UK price sits at £1,499.99 MSRP.
