Introversion, the UK-based indie studio responsible for games such as Defcon and Darwinia, has announced that so far their new game, Prison Architect, has attracted 100,000 players.

The game is currently in paid alpha on Steam's Early Access page, but the unfinished nature of the title hasn't stopped a huge number of players paying up and getting stuck into creating their own prison facilities.

The game, which is currently in its tenth iteration, is a sandbox micromanagement building sim, where players act as both architect and governor of their own jail. You can read our preview right here.
