Pokémon fans from around the world have been on the quest to catch 'em all since the phenomenon first appeared in the 1990s, but not all have the money to spend on making that happen. The Pokémon card, 'Pikachu Illustrator', features the loveable, electric rodent Pikachu holding a paintbrush and was given out as a prize in the 1998 CoroCoro Comic illustration contest and only 39 copies of the card exist worldwide.
A close to mint-condition Pikachu Illustrator card was recently sold to a bidder at a Weiss auction in New York for the absurd sum of $195,000
If you had the money, would you have bid on the card?
